Distributing Reports to Teams using ReportWORQ

After configuring the Teams integration, ReportWORQ’s distribution screen will display an output option of ‘Teams’. Selecting this option will reveal a new section where recipients and message content can be added.

While the ReportWORQ distribution message editor supports many formatting options. Teams’ messages will only display basic text, images and the associated job’s files.

In the following example, the distribution section has a message which contains text, a chart image retrieved using a variable and an embedded image logo. In addition to the above, ReportWORQ generated files will be attached to the message which can be opened directly in Teams.

In the following image, ReportWORQ has delivered a chat to a Microsoft Teams Channel which contains the calculated results of the previous distribution message.

Teams’ recipients can be a combination of both individual Chats or Team Channels.

I’m aware that this is probably very ambitious, but I don’t suppose there would be any way to allow users to “Communicate” with ReportWORQ via teams (a bit like a support bot on a website)?

For example, sales person sends a message to ReportWORQ through teams, "Please can you send me my Sales Summary for Customer X <Parameter 1> in June <Parameter 2>?

Which would then prompt a response similar to the example Matt has pictured above?

Hi Nick,

Great suggestion! In the past we have experimented with a Teams Bot purely for distribution and it was not a great experience due to file management permissions. However, an interactive bot could definitely provide a valuable way to request available reports using specific parameters. We’ll add it as a requested feature and look into the effort required.

Thanks,

Matt
