Feature Highlight - PowerPoint Distribution: Transforming Your Presentations

Harnessing ReportWORQ’s PowerPoint Distribution can enable you to craft visually stunning presentations that effectively convey your data-driven narratives.

Understanding PowerPoint Distribution

At its core, PowerPoint Integration is the seamless integration of ReportWORQ generated Excel values, ranges and charts into Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Gone are the days of manually transferring data from spreadsheets to presentation slides, only to find yourself drowning in a sea of outdated figures and charts. With PowerPoint Integration, you can bid farewell to the tedious copy-pasting ordeal and embrace a more efficient and streamlined approach to report creation.

Whether you’re delivering a quarterly business review, pitching a new strategy to stakeholders, or presenting findings from a market analysis, the ability to integrate current data directly into your slides ensures that your presentations remain relevant and impactful.

Key Features and Benefits

  1. Dynamic Data Updates: Say goodbye to static, outdated slides. With PowerPoint Integration, your presentations remain current, with pictures, text and charts automatically updating on every job run. Whether you’re pulling in the latest sales figures or tracking project milestones, you can trust that your audience is always viewing the most current information.
  2. Customizable Visualizations: Text can only go so far, but pictures are worth a thousand words. ReportWORQ allows you to import the most recent charts, data grids and images from ReportWORQ generated Excel files directly into PowerPoint and then immediately share them with your audience.
  3. Time Efficiency: By eliminating the need for manual data entry and manipulation, PowerPoint Integration frees up valuable time that can be better spent analyzing insights and refining your presentations. With just a few clicks, you can seamlessly import data from ReportWORQ generated sheets into your PowerPoint slides, allowing you to focus on crafting a compelling narrative.

New Features

In the current preview release, which receives limited testing, and the March official release, which is scheduled for March 4th, there are several new features that are available for PowerPoint Distribution.

  • Reduced File Size: Due to a change in the image format, PowerPoint files which contain many image, range or chart exports will see a significant reduction in file size.

  • Adjustable Image Quality: By default, ReportWORQ transfers images from Excel to PowerPoint at 200ppi (points per inch). If the output file size is too large, the image quality can be reduced.

  • Disable Fixed Aspect Ratio: Should imported Excel items retain their original aspect ratio, or fit into the image frame on the PowerPoint slide? You can now choose which option fits your distribution needs under the PowerPoint Output Options Screen. Note that the height may still change if additional rows are generated based on a dynamic refresh.

  • PowerPoint Output as PDF: When PowerPoint files are converted to PDF files, recipients can still view PowerPoint output even if they do not have PowerPoint installed. A low-quality PDF option is also available to further reduce file sizes.

  • Include Excel items from multiple burst sheets on a single slide: Charts, ranges and pictures from multiple sheets can now be included on the same slide when a unique parameter set is used to burst worksheets. This was previously a restricted use case. Note that there is still a restriction on items from sheets that have been burst using different parameters.

  • Sort slides by worksheet order: By default, replicated slides variations are placed adjacent to each other. However, this might not match the output order of the linked Excel sheets. Use this option to automatically reorder slides to match the order of the worksheets that the slides are connected to.
