New Writeback Feature for Planning Analytics

One of the things that is easy to miss in all the updates from our February 2023 release of ReportWORQ 5 is that we added a new capability related to Writeback for Planning Analytics users!

Our Writeback support for Planning Analytics is based around our support of DBS and DBSW Excel functions, which are designed to send numeric data to leaf-level cells in Planning Analytics cubes. Any attempts to send numeric values to consolidated cells using these functions will fail in the Perspectives and Planning Analytics for Excel add-ins. It would also fail in ReportWORQ for the same reason, until now…

As of ReportWORQ 5.0.0.47 we allow you to optionally enable proportional spreading when a DBS formula references a consolidated numeric cell. This option is turned off, by default, and must be enabled in Planning Analytics Data source connections in ReportWORQ.

This new feature supports scenarios in ReportWORQ where admins might want to, for instance, collect updates via ReportWORQ’s Writeback feature for an existing forecast at a more summarized level, thus allowing users to submit data that is then proportionally spread across existing or a copy of prior forecast data.

This feature is all thanks to feedback & suggestions from our users, so keep it coming!
