Episode 8: Worksheet Output Options

This time we're looking at how each worksheet behaves in the file Reportworq actually delivers. That's output options, and you'll find them on the Reports step of the Job Editor, per worksheet, right next to your parameter mapping.
We're covering five of them here and saving the sixth (shaping the PDF bookmark tree) for it's own episode next time. Three of these output options are related to overall presentation (sheet name, tab color, output order). The remaining two are about delivery control (sheet suppression and exception check).
Sheet Name: sets the output name (different from the source tab, using literal text, parameter tokens, or a calculated cell. This is perfect for when you burst one template into many copies.
Sheet Tab Color: colors the tab in the Excel output (named color, #hex, or ARGB).
Output Order: sets the render sequence if you need finite control over the order of pages
Sheet Suppression: deletes a tab from the output when its cell evaluates TRUE (ex use case would be removing a tab that has no data after recalculation)
Exception Check: it turns a cell into a send gate for the whole report. It's an OR across every worksheet; if any exception cell anywhere in the report is TRUE, the report ships; if they're all FALSE, delivery is suppressed. Ideal for sending a variance pack only to the owners who are actually over budget.
A quick connection back to our Excel function series: these never came up because they're set in the job but each one does have a matching formula from the same RW.Tools family so you can drive them from a cell if that fits your template better. Just remember the precedence rule: when an option is set in the job, the job's Output Option takes precedence over the Excel formula.
On Reportworq 5? One thing moved. In RW5, the sheet's output name and its PDF bookmark were two separate options. In this version they're consolidated into a single Sheet Name option that carries all the bookmark levels. We will show this in the next episode in detail.
We've attached an example workbook so you can see it work in action. To use this workbook simply create a job in Reportworq pointing to this file then configure the report per instructions in the file on the tab Job Setup Instructions.
