Episode 5: Excel Function: RW.Tools.Blankrow

RW.Tools.BlankRow inserts one or more blank rows next to your formula's row at generation time. Clean, deterministic spacing that holds up even when your report expands dynamically (yes...even with IBM PA Dynamic Reports).
The trick is timing. BlankRow runs after your data expansion steps (like RW.Relational.Export) but before row suppression. So your spacing lands correctly no matter how many rows the data produced, and Suppress can still tidy things up afterward.
Use it to separate grouped sections, add conditional spacing driven by a cell value, or with copyformat insert rows that inherit the shading and borders of the row above for a seamless banded look.
A quick note on versions: RW.Tools.BlankRow is new in v5.0.0.91 and isn't available in earlier releases.
We've attached an Excel example file for a hands-on walkthrough of the formula in action. You can create a simple job in Reportworq and use the file as your report source to see the formula work in a real job run. Just select Excel in the distribution screen and run the test no other modification to the job is needed.
