Refreshing Pivot Tables

Using version ReportWORQ4.4
I am refreshing an data table in excel using a SQL connection. There are several pivot tables connected to the table. Is it possible to refresh these pivot tables once the data from SQL is refreshed.

I have never done a pivot refresh via ReportWORQ before, I tried a very simple test last night and it did not work. I thought there might be a special RWQ function.

Thanks!

@wturgeon,

Refreshing pivot tables is supported by ReportWORQ. There were enhancements to this process in version 5, however it was supported in version 4 also. After the Planning Analytics formulas are updated and the workbook is calculated the pivot tables are explicitly refreshed. If you’re using an active form with the pivot table make sure you include an additional blank row with in the data range so that when the active form is collapsed and re-expanded the data range will grow to include the new rows.

Thank You,
-Andy

Thanks Andy. I think I oversimplified my test, I had just updated a static cell in a set of data and ran it through reportworq expecting the pivot to refresh when there were no other calculations. I was able to set up a SQL test to update a table and the corresponding pivot data was updated as well. Worked perfectly.

Thank you for your response,
Bill
